On February 23, 2007, the Honorable Cathelene “Tina” Robinson was sworn
into office as the Clerk of Superior Court, after the retirement of her predecessor Juanita Hicks.
On December 15, 2008, Cathelene “Tina” Robinson was sworn in as the newly elected Clerk of Superior
Court to serve the citizens of Fulton County in this post. The Clerk of Superior Court performs a
wide range of duties which include, but are not limited to, record keeping, information management
and financial management functions in the judicial system. The office also provides personnel court
support to each Superior Court judge.
The Clerk is responsible for supervising and training a staff of over 200 employees while
administering a $15 million annual budget. Tina also collaborates with other governmental
and private agencies to help prevent crime; create ways to provide more efficient services to
citizens and implement ways to make Fulton County a safer place for all to live, work, and play.
Prior to taking office, Tina has dedicated 30 years of service to the citizens of Fulton County.
She began working at the Health Department in 1974, the Tax Commissioner’s Office in 1981,
and the Fulton County Clerk of Superior Court Office in 1989. Throughout her career, she has
maintained a strong commitment to community and customer service, not only in the Criminal
Justice System, but also in the community at-large. Tina has volunteered in numerous community
initiatives and programs and has been recognized locally by a variety of civic organizations for
her strong commitment to the community.
She is the Vice President of George Washington Carver Alumni Association and serves as an advisory
board member for the “Boys to Men” Youth Home and Sanctuary non-profit organization for young boys.
Tina is a native of Covington, Georgia, however, she is considered a long time resident of Atlanta
since moving to the city at four years of age and growing up in the Carver Homes Community.
Tina credits her parents, the late James Russell Hearn, Sr. and Nellie Kimbro Hearn as the
driving force behind her commitment to community service. Tina says her mother and father
taught her to always treat people as she wish to be treated. Her mother also instilled several
other principals, but one in particular, “You can be whatever you wish to be, but whatever you
choose to be, be the best.” This concept has held true value as she continues to give unselfishly
of her time to volunteer throughout the community to help others in need.
Tina is the proud mother of two daughters and one grandson. She also attends St. Peters Missionary
Baptist Church.
