DRUG FREE WORK PLACE

 

Effective immediately, all Fulton County work locations are declared to be drug free workplaces.

All employees are hereby notified: 

  1. The unlawful manufacture, distribution, dispensing, possession or use of a controlled substance is prohibited in all Fulton County workplaces.
  2. Any employee convicted of violating a criminal drug statue in the work place, including plea of guilt and nolo contendere, must notify his/her Department Head within five (5) days of the conviction.
  3. Fulton County shall take on of the following actions, within thirty (30) days of receiving notice under subparagraphs (A) and (B) with respect to any employee who is convicted.

A: Any employee who violates the Drug Free Work-place policy may be disciplined up to and including termination for the first offense. Personnel Regulation PR-1800-200, Article 3 and 5). 

B: Fulton County may require or offer an employee convicted of violating a criminal drug statue in the workplace participation in a County approved drug rehabilitation program as an alternative to discipline. If the rehabilitation program is offered and accepted by the convicted employee, the employee must satisfactorily complete the program as a condition of employment.

As a condition of employment, all employees agree to abide by the terms of the above policy.
