Attendance And Tardy Policy Fulton County Personnel guidelines for defining
absenteeism and tardiness are:
Our policy is to work with the employees to reduce their absenteeism rate and improve their punctuality. Managers and supervisors are encouraged to use other alternatives before resorting to formal disciplinary actions. These alternatives include helping the employees to define the reasons for their attendance problems; identifying solutions and allowing the employees a reasonable amount of time for improvement. During this period managers and supervisors should exercise discretion and apply fair and uniform treatment to all employees who may at times have attendance problems. After verbal counseling (the length and frequency is at the discretion of the supervisors) has been given, then the following steps should be implemented: First Occurrence- written counseling memo
from the immediate supervisor. Should the employee at any point show sustained and continuous improvement disciplinary action will stop at that time. However, should the employee relapse, depending on the interval between the last disciplinary action and the time attendance declined, the supervisor may move to the next step in the sequence. The recommended action is to give the employee another warning memo. This policy shall apply in all instances where chronic absenteeism and tardiness have been identified. Progressive disciplinary action is applied under PR-1800-2-ART. 1-Absenteeism and Tardiness. Attendance Policy |
